Virage Logic To Deploy Giga Scale IC's New Silicon Virtual Model Software
Time Architect Will be Used to Model Virage Logic Semiconductor IP Platform Portfolio
CUPERTINO, Calif., December 17, 2003 - Giga Scale Integration Corporation (Giga Scale IC) today said that Virage Logic Corporation (Nasdaq: VIRL), a leading provider of best-in-class semiconductor intellectual property (IP) platforms, will deploy Time Architect® throughout its sales and field support organization.
This move is designed to improve Virage Logic's selling model by enabling its sales force to advise customers early in the design process. Virage Logic is the first IP vendor to move beyond showcasing the benefits of its memory, logic and I/O products to actually helping its customers evaluate the various tradeoffs and selecting the IP that best meets their speed, power, area and cost specifications.
"Using Time Architect, our sales team will be able to help customers estimate their entire chip and the overall benefits of Virage Logic's semiconductor IP platform offering in the context of a full system-on-chip design," notes Raj Singh, vice president of sales at Virage Logic. "In addition, Time Architect can be used to determine how to best leverage Virage Logic's Self-Test and Repair (STAR) Memory System to dramatically increase yield, saving millions over a production run of a sophisticated consumer electronics chip. Virage Logic's sales and applications engineering groups will learn how to use Time Architect through automated, online training available from Giga Scale IC. Giga Scale IC also provides technical support during sales engagements.
Additionally, Giga Scale IC will sell full Time Architect models of Virage Logic's semiconductor IP platforms with Time Architect to Virage Logic licensees. These models will be bundled together with additional IP and the Time Architect software.
